The story of this form
A cremation urn shaped as a sculpted stone vessel with an integrated bud-vase recess at the crown, allowing a single stem to be set beside the tribute. Made from engineered ceramic, the vessel carries the substantial weight and cool touch of stone beneath a stone-white matte finish. Personalize a smooth face of the body with raised lettering, names and dates sculpted directly from the surface for a permanent, integrated tribute. A quiet modern memorial where remembrance and a small living gesture rest side by side.
The material
A composite: real ceramic particles held in a resin binder. The ceramic is what you feel, the weight and the coolness of stone. The binder holds it in one continuous form and makes it less brittle than fired pottery.
There is no glaze on it. The stone-white color and the velvet-matte surface are the material itself, running all the way through, so there is no coating to chip away.
Size
Ashes take up about a cubic inch for every pound the person weighed, so each size is named for the heaviest person it suits. The name is their weight, never the urn's.
Questions
Yes. There is no glaze to craze or chip, and no fired clay body to crack along a hairline. The color runs all the way through, so a scuff does not expose a different color underneath. It is not indestructible, and it is worth handling with care.
